I’ll be back home in Phoenix this week for the West Valley Arts Council’s Big Read. Come out to an event and I’ll be honored to sign your Mapstone books. We’ll be talking about Hammett’s Maltese Falcon and its influence on writers. You’ll get the scoop on my next books. I’m sure Arizona politics and issues will come up. And, of course, the search for the perfect cheese-and-onion enchilada.

We’re going to break out the hats and hooters, Mr. Talton. (Just don’t forget to bring Josie. There’s a good chap.) Cheese and onion enchiladas, and Phoenix politics and issues, will come up — in that order.
BTW, for those who don’t know, The Maltese Falcon is an excellent novel and a poor movie. If you saw the movie and thought it was hokey and boring, try the novel. It’s a knockout.
